Audio Downloads, CDs, Transcripts and Rights

There are many ways for listeners to access audio and transcripts of Fresh Air beyond the on-air broadcast, for your personal and private use.

1. Downloadable digital audio from Audible.com
Most current Fresh Air programs are available from Audible.com's Web store for download at www.audible.com/freshair. Once delivered to your PC, you can listen at your computer, or take Terry with you wherever you go with the many portable audio players available today. Daily programs are available for $2.95 each. Or, you can get a one-month, six-month or 12-month subscription. Due to rights issues, not all interviews are available

2. Downloadable digital audio from Apple iTunes for your iPod
Users will need Windows 2000 or XP operating systems or or Mac OS X v10.1.5 or later. See Apple's Web site. Prices range from $2.95 to $15.95 for each download. Again, due to rights issues, not all interviews are available.

3. Ordering audio CDs and transcripts from Burrelles
Customer service will need to know the broadcast date of the show and the interview guest or subject to confirm availability.

Please note that transcripts for Fresh Air are not available for programs broadcast prior to April 16, 1997. Audio CDs are available before that date.

CDs cost $23.70. Printed and e-mailed transcripts cost $18.70, faxed transcripts cost $31.70. Prices include shipping and handling.

4. Use by educational and non-profit 501(C)(3) organizations
Fresh Air is copyrighted by WHYY, Inc., which reserves all rights to the broadcast. We do not object to the educational and non-profit use of Fresh Air program audio. We do not provide research or other special services for listeners. Individuals or not-for-profit institutions, which intend to make limited, non-profit, educational, classroom use of Fresh Air programs, may record the programs off the air, purchase audio CDs and transcripts from Burrelle's or download audio from Audible.com. Please credit as follows, "Fresh Air with Terry Gross, is produced in Philadelphia by WHYY" in your use. Reprint requests for transcript copies will be subject to a fee -- contact us.

5. Use by for-profit organizations and other non-tax exempt groups or organizations
Permission may be granted to for-profit entities, depending on the proposed use. Payment of a license fee is usually required for such use. Permission should be requested, in writing.
